About this project
BIOFIN Cuba has promoted the financing of biodiversity at a systemic level. Some of the most important results are aimed to promoting favorable solutions to the conservation and sustainable management of the biodiversity. They are: the update of the Entry fee in protected areas of pilot sites; the approval of the first PES in Cuba for carbon removal through sustainable forest management; the approval of an accounting standard (NC11) to record income and expenses associated with biodiversity; the improvement of the National Environmental Fund and to strengthen capacities for the implementation of Green Banking throughout the National Banking System.
