About this project

In support of these endeavours, a consortium of six partners will join forces to implement the ‘Shifting Investment Flows Towards Green Transformation (SHIFT)’ project in Viet Nam, enhancing know-how and capacities of relevant public and private stakeholders in the areas of green finance and energy transition. The consortium consists of Agora Energiewende/the Smart Energy for Europe Platform (SEFEP), the Banking Academy of Viet Nam (BAV), International Finance Cooperation (IFC), SNV Netherlands Development Organisation Viet Nam, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as the consortium lead. Within the framework of SHIFT, UNDP is responsible for the design and implementation of two Work Packages. The objective is to generate interest and build technical capacity in the private sector especially women-led enterprises or enterprises with a proven approach to promote gender equality concerning RE, EE and energy transition technologies. UNDP will receive 3 million Euros (of 15 million Euros for the entire project) to implement the following two work packages: (1) design and implementation of replicable investment projects in energy transition technologies to substantially reduce greenhouse gas emissions in high energy consuming sectors; and (2) catalyse and facilitate the replication and scale-up of the piloted energy transition technologies and other energy transition technologies.
