The Government of Tuvalu, with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has developed a high-level coastal protection and land development concept, the Tuvalu Long-term Adaptation Plan (L-TAP). L-TAP aims to support protection of Tuvalu’s national population from the impact of rising sea level and other impacts of climate change, by developing approximately 3.5km2 of raised safe new land.
