Support to Philippine NDC (NDC Support)

About this project

The Support to Philippine Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Project assists the Government ofthe Philippines (GoP) in advancing its climate goals by establishing net-zero and climate-resilientdevelopment pathways aligned with the Paris Agreement. The project supports the enhancement of thecountry’s NDC through a five-step process: scoping, baseline updates, sector assessments, cross-cuttinganalyses, and drafting NDC revisions. Key outputs include input documents for the NDC 3.0 in the wasteand industrial processes and product use (IPPU) sectors; recommendations on integrating Nature-basedSolutions (NbS) and Circular Economy (CE) principles; and strengthen gender-responsiveness andstakeholder engagement in updating the NDC. Guided by the Climate Change Commission, DENR, andNDC Technical Working Group, the project aligns with the Philippines development priorities andinternational climate commitments, fostering equitable, evidence-based climate solutions.
