About this project
The project aims to create a proactive and resilient approach to forest fire management by focusing on enhancing community involvement and local capacity. It seeks to mitigate the impact of fires on both natural resources and local livelihoods, ultimately contributing to sustainable forest management and climate resilience in Belarus. Expected results of the project:1. Increased capacity of forest fire protection services in the most vulnerable regions of the country to prevent, detect and manage forest fires. 2. Strengthened fire prevention and extinguishing capabilities to contribute to sustaining livelihoods of communities residing near forested areas. 3. Improved awareness level of local population about the importance of timely reporting of fires and prompt action to prevent escalation. 4. The successful experience of the project funded by “China Aid” is widely communicated.
