About this project

The project aims to address key development challenges associated with climate change, energy transition, environmental degradation, and climate-induced health issues in Viet Nam. As the country faces increasing climate-related risks, such as extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and environmental degradation, there is an urgent need to enhance resilience, reduce emissions, and foster sustainable development aligned with the Country Programme Document’s 2022-2026 Outcome 2 and signature solution on crisis prevention and increased resilience. This project is to consolidate and manage a set of pipelines to materialize funding opportunities on climate change, energy and environment initiatives (CCEE), aiming to mobilize resources and improve performance for these following portfolios: i) Enhance resilience to climate change and disasters; ii) Promote green and low-carbon development; iii) Circular economy and waste/plastic; iv) Foster biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration; and v) Strengthen the climate-health nexus. With the objectives of resources mobilization for CCEE unit, this project will contribute to:? Enhance programme development on climate change and environmental topics, catalyze national efforts for sustainability, and support Viet Nam in achieving its climate and environmental goals while promoting green, inclusive development.?
