About this project

The project intends to strengthen the institutional capacity of the nodal ministry and facilitate the preparation of India’s second and third Biennial Transparency Report (BTR2 & BTR3) towards fulfilling the reporting obligations to the UNFCCC. In accordance with the Modalities, Procedures and Guidelines (MPGs) of the ETF, the project will refine and update the inventory of anthropogenic emissions and removals of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) through the use of higher tier methodologies, undertake qualitative and quantitative assessment of achievement against NDCs, assess the anticipated climate change impact in light of the latest climate models and map the progress in implementing adaptation plans and actions, and compile information on financial, technology development and transfer and capacity building support needed and received.
