About this project

A localized pilot project to tackle key challenges in solid waste management, reduce marine litter, and enhance recycling practices in a coastal area. This initiative aligns with Angola’s National Waste Strategy (PESGRU) and incorporates the recommendations from the pre-feasibility study on waste management in Luanda. The project will focus on two strategic priorities: a) engage coastal community and foster private sector participation to ensure long-term sustainability; b) improve waste collection, reduce plastic pollution and marine litter, strengthen recycling mechanisms, and promote behavioural change through education and awareness campaigns.
