About this project
The ACCTRANS project aims to accelerate Indonesia’s transition toward an inclusive and integrated low-carbon economy by catalyzing climate investment in the land use, land-use change, and forestry (LULUCF) sectors through gender-responsive planning and accessible finance, strengthening Sharia-based climate financing mechanisms, and establishing an integrated industrial emissions reporting platform for hard-to-abate sectors. The project will be implemented in selected regions with significant LULUCF activities and carbon-intensive industries, including Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Java, focusing on improving both institutional and community capacity. To achieve its objectives, ACCTRANS will strengthen regulatory frameworks, promote inclusive stakeholder engagement, and leverage a mix of conventional and Sharia-compliant financing, while advancing robust data systems to support transparent emissions reporting and evidence-based policymaking. By integrating innovative finance, participatory approaches, and reliable data systems, the project ensures that climate action in Indonesia is effective, equitable, and aligned with the country’s long-term sustainability goals.
