About this project
This initiative supports early recovery in mine-affected districts in Yemen, where conflict, displacement, and explosive hazards have left millions food-insecure and blocked access to farmland, roads, and schools. The project aims to restore livelihoods and essential services by clearing landmines, rehabilitating infrastructure, and strengthening local institutions. Special focus is placed on empowering women, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced people, ensuring their participation in recovery planning and access to services. By building the capacity of relevant government institutions and mine action organizations, and embedding gender-responsive approaches, the project seeks to unlock farmland, revive micro-enterprises, and reduce humanitarian dependence through inclusive, locally led development.
