About this project

Ghana is recognized as a hotspot for zoonotic diseases, with multiple endemic and emerging pathogens posing significant risks to public health, biodiversity, and economic stability. In response, the Nature for Health (N4H) initiative—funded through the Biodiversity for Health and Pandemic Prevention Multi-Partner Trust Fund—has developed a comprehensive implementation project aimed at reducing zoonotic spillover risks through a One Health approach. The N4H Ghana Implementation Project Document (IPD) for the scoping phase was originally developed by EcoHealth Alliance, in collaboration with the University of Ghana and a multi-sectoral Core Team. As EcoHealth Alliance is no longer a partner in the N4H initiative, UNDP has taken the lead in updating the project document. This update will include the new stakeholders involved in implementation and will also address the final comments provided by the Technical Advisory Group from the Secretariat.
