PIMS-10325 PPG GEF BIO-KARST

About this project

PPG supports the development of the project concept into a full project, Biodiversity and Inclusive Governance for Resilient Karst Ecosystems and Community Livelihoods (BIO-KARST), which aims to conserve globally significant biodiversity and deliver social and environmental benefits from Indonesia’s karst ecosystems. As outlined in the Project Identification Form (PIF), the PPG will support preparation of a technically robust, policy-aligned, and implementation-ready UNDP–GEF Project Document by strengthening the analytical foundation, refining the theory of change, and ensuring compliance with GEF and UNDP requirements. This includes refining project scope, outcomes, and implementation arrangements; validating priority intervention areas; integrating gender, social inclusion, and environmental safeguards; facilitating inclusive stakeholder consultations; strengthening institutional and financing frameworks; and ensuring alignment with national development priorities, biodiversity strategies, and the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. These activities will ensure the final project design is evidence-based, feasible, and positioned to deliver measurable global environmental benefits while supporting sustainable livelihoods and long-term governance of Indonesia’s karst ecosystems.
