About this project

The Cambodia EW4All project addresses the countrys high climate vulnerability by transforming national early warning and adaptation interventions. Cambodia faces significant disaster risk, ranking 58th out of 191 countries in the 2024 INFORM Risk Index and is the fourth most flood-exposed country globally. The project enhances governance, data systems, and community preparedness through three main outputs: strengthened governance and coordination, improved disaster risk knowledge and observations, and enhanced warning dissemination and preparedness. It leverages innovative data integration, inclusive communication protocols, and targeted capacity building to shift from reactive disaster response to proactive, equitable climate risk management. The initiative focuses on four provinces (Ratanakiri, Kratie, Stung Treng and Banteay Meanchey) and emphasises inclusivity, ensuring marginalised groups, including women and people with disabilities, actively engage in adaptation strategies. Expected outcomes include 514,098 (254,324 male, 259,774 female) direct beneficiaries and 2,153,028 (1,065,103 male, 1,087,925 female) indirect beneficiaries.
