About this project

The objective of the GEF PPG is to develop the project concept into a full project: Promoting Policy Coherence through support for Brazil’s Ecological Transformation Plan in Brazil. As described in the project concept (PIF/child project concept note), this project aims to promote policy coherence by aligning Brazil’s regional financing instruments with environmental, social and economic priorities, with a focus on the bioeconomy pillars of the Ecological Transformation Plan (ETP). Implementation will concentrate on Brazil’s North and Northeast regions, which include the Amazon and other ecologically and socially significant biomes such as the Caatinga, Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest, which holds high biodiversity and the country’s largest concentration of smallholder farmers interconnect with structural inequality and land-use pressures
