About this project

The objective of the GEF PPG is to develop the project concept into a full project: To strengthen the resilience of marine and coastal ecosystems to improve the conservation of Cetaceans and their habitats in the Turkish waters. Türkiye provides critical habitats for cetacean (whales, dolphins and porpoises) species, including areas for foraging, nursing, socializing and migrating across its waters in the Black Sea, Turkish Strait System, Aegean Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean, supporting both coastal and deep-diving species.
