About this project
This project aims to address the economic drivers of biodiversity loss in ancestral domains by making traditional stewardship economically competitive with alternative employment, demonstrating how a combination of government integration, market-based revenue streams, and risk-reduction tools can reverse degradation while generating replicable models across the Philippines’ 1,531 ancestral domains covering 13.2 million hectares. It embeds economic viability into conservation planning and regulatory processes so that NCIP and partners can scale results beyond pilot sites and sustain them over time.
