About this project
The Establishing a Circular Economy Framework for the Plastics Sector in Ghana (CEF-PS) project is a national initiative designed to strengthen Ghana’s capacity to transition from a linear “take-make-dispose” model to a sustainable circular economy in plastics management. Implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and executed by the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), with funding from the Global Environment Facility, the project supports the operationalization of the National Plastic Management Policy and the National Plastic Action Partnership. It focuses on creating an enabling policy and institutional framework, building stakeholder capacity, promoting innovation and public-private partnerships, and enhancing coordination and knowledge management across the plastics value chain.
