About this project
The GEF Council has recently approved the Project Identification Form (PIF) for the full-sized project titled Resilient Futures: Safeguarding Guinea-Bissau’s Coastlines and Urban Areas from Climate Risks (PIMS#10102) implemented through the Ministry of Environment and Climate Action (MAAC). UNDP is now commencing a detailed project preparation phase expected to last 65 days. The PIF was approved by the GEF Secretariat on 1 June 2026. At the end of the preparation phase, UNDP will finalize a full submission package for approval/endorsement by the GEF CEO, followed by a UNDP Project Document (ProDoc). The Project Preparation Grant (PPG) is a funding mechanism provided by the GEF to support the preparation of project proposals.
