About this project
The Agency will prioritize emergency repairs to maintain vital services in a safe and dignified environment. Initial efforts will focus on restoring damaged electrical networks and solar power systems in affected camps to ensure stable power supplies and uninterrupted service delivery. New solar energy systems will be installed at eight critical sites, including camp service centres, area offices, and Relief and Social Services offices, to enable continuous operations during fuel shortages, grid failures, or conflict, supporting essential services and emergency response. At least seven conflict-damaged UNRWA installations will undergo structural and interior repairs, including administrative and social services buildings crucial for service coordination and community support. Two UNRWA warehouses will also be maintained and rehabilitated. Four site engineers will be hired to support the implementation and assessment of emergency repairs. Additionally, UNRWA will remove and dispose of explosive remnants of war (ERW) and debris in five affected Palestine refugee camps and surrounding areas impacted by armed hostilities.
