About this project
To enhance the socio-economic well-being and food security of rural communities in Sri Lanka through the sustainable development of inland fisheries. This will be achieved by improving fish seed production, increasing fish fingerling stocking, enhancing reservoir fisheries management, and expanding market opportunities. The project aims to build technical capacities, integrate environmentally sustainable practices, and promote gender equality and inclusivity in all aspects of fisheries development. By leveraging innovative technologies and best practices, the objective is to establish a self-sustained, climate-resilient, and community-driven inland fisheries sector that contributes to the national goal of reducing poverty and ensuring nutritional security.
