About this project
To contribute to the pathway of Bosnia and Herzegovina to conserve, restore and manage the environment and natural resources as a shared asset while contributing to increasing resilience, peace and sustainable development. The proposed intervention aims to support Bosnia and Herzegovina?s transition toward the sustainable management, restoration, and conservation of natural resources, emphasizing their strategic role as a shared asset of the country. By strengthening institutional cooperation, supporting integrated land and natural resource management, the project contributes to enhance the resilience of ecosystems and communities, providing a sound input toward national and international commitments, including SDG 15 (Life on Land), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and the objectives of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) on combating land degradation and promoting sustainable land use. In particular, the proposed intervention aligns with the vision of the UNCCD?s Peace Forest Initiative, recognizing the potential of integrated natural resource management as an entry point for fostering cooperation, building peace, and advancing long-term resilience and sustainable development.
