About this project

This proposal aims to (i) strengthen the capacity of the NDA, Coordination Mechanism, and a potential accredited entity to establish the policies, systems, and institutional infrastructure required to access GCF funding and advance Eritrea?s climate and SDG ambitions. This includes developing a Country Platform for Climate Finance, supporting the preparation of the Long-Term Strategy (LTS), and accompanying the entity identified under ERI-RS-002 toward accreditation ; (ii) build a pipeline of high-quality, investable climate mitigation and adaptation projects tailored to national priorities, culminating in the submission of two Concept Notes and two full Funding Proposals, supported by a functional MEL system and strengthened financial management and audit processes; and (iii) enhance climate knowledge and data access for national and local government actors, local communities, civil society, and the private sector?particularly women?while enabling Eritrea to participate in regional platforms and South?South learning exchanges.
