About this project
Demonstrate and operationalise agricultural OECMs as a scalable conservation mechanism in Cabo Verde. Through the development of national criteria, governance frameworks and monitoring tools, and a landscape scale pilot on Santo Ant o, the project will generate the first practical model for recognising, designating and managing agricultural OECMs. By strengthening policy coherence, spatial planning, community led governance, and sustainable financing mechanisms, the project will contribute directly to KMGBF Targets 3, 10, 14 and 22, while reinforcing biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and livelihoods in productive landscapes.
