About this project
KawiSafi Ventures Fund is designed to finance early-stage small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with core business models that address the off-grid solar ecosystems in East Africa. • It provides a universal access to energy to people located beyond the foreseeable grid connection and at the bottom of the economic pyramid. • GCF can play an important role in mobilizing private investors at scale for investment in SMEs promoting off-grid solar systems in East Africa. • GCF participation as an early anchor investor would instill confidence in the Program among potential investors that otherwise would not have participated in the Program.
