About this project

The programme will support Kazakhstan to develop capacity aggregating ca. 330MW RES projects, which will help Kazakhstan to achieve ca. 18% of its 2020 RES goals. • It provides viable and economic alternative to cheap and abundant coal-based power generation resources • It provides the country with a mechanism to finance projects under the auction mechanism, which would ultimately serve to reduce tariffs. • It aims to address key bottlenecks of current projects, including lack of long tenor financing, and policy challenges.
