Zambia Renewable Energy Financing Framework

About this project

The framework aims to support the development and upscaling of renewable energy capacities by private sector developers and to create an enabling environment for private investment in the mini-grid and off-grid sector. • The framework aims to present Zambia with a viable and economic alternative to hydropower and fossil fuel based power generation resources, which may contribute significantly to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. • The framework supports initiatives by the national priorities of the Government of Zambia towards scaling up renewable energy capacity in the private sector while diversifying the national energy mix.
