About this project

The Green Cities Facility aims to demonstrate “common but differentiated” actions to combat climate change and environmental challenges in cities in the Facility region by providing a holistic approach for cities to identify, prioritise and address their challenges in the context of sustainable development. Over the next 5 years, the Facility will help at least 10 cities to plan for and implement comprehensive green city actions. The Facility will address multiple market barriers to green city action through four components: 1. Strategy and policy support to help cities make informed action plans and investment decisions; 2. The finance needed for scalable and replicable green city infrastructure investments; 3. Essential technical assistance and capacity building. 4. Support to access finance for low-carbon and climate adaptation infrastructure investments from diverse sources
