About this project

The programme aims to provide credit lines and technical assistance to textile and garments manufacturers for energy efficiency equipment and technologies. • It targets high emissions sectors (textile and readymade garment sectors) of national importance in a least developed country with strong co-benefits. • It promotes country ownership by providing access to climate finance for a direct access entity and building local capacity. The programme intends to address these barriers through concessional financing supplemented with TA to build local capacity which will in turn stimulate market demand and increase the availability of energy-efficient equipment. • It creates an enabling environment that will allow the market to expand beyond the programme’s targets, through development of energy efficiency performance standards, energy savings information dashboard, and involvement of fashion brands
