About this project
The programme is a joint public and private sector effort to create a national financing vehicle, Mongolia Green Finance Corporation (MGFC), to overcome challenges and constraints for climate change mitigation in Mongolia. • MGFC is a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership (PPP)-based green bank involving the entire banking sector, with strong potential for replication in developing country contexts. • MGFC will develop the capacity for climate finance of the entire Mongolian financial sector, which does not exist in the market and could probably not be developed by existing institutions. • It promotes country ownership, and targets high impact sectors in line with national priorities
