About this project
ICRF is a multi-tranche blended finance private equity fund to climate-proof African infrastructure through equity or quasi-equity investments in downstream subprojects that are designed to be climate-resilient. • ICRF is the first of its kind climate resilient infrastructure fund on the African Continent to mobilize private capital. • ICRF will provide a blended finance platform that accommodates different risk-return profiles, ranging from concessional finance provider (GCF) to commercial investors from Africa, which so far have not invested in the CRI asset class. • ICRF will support the development of climate risk insurance products for CRI to attract private sector investment and reduce the risk perception, improving the access of vulnerable people and communities to infrastructure
