About this project
The Blue Green Bank (BGB) is a new national climate bank for Barbados that invests in national priority adaptation and mitigation projects for primarily micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and households. •BGB is designed as a market maker to crowd in risk-averse local financial institutions to invest in climate projects which otherwise would not get financed. BGB will initially finance rooftop solar, resilient housing and water conservation through national programmes that have already been developed but need financing, It will expand to other sectors, including the blue economy, and has an aspiration to eventually expand throughout the Caribbean.
