About this project
ARCAFIM aims to scale up private sector climate change adaptation finance in East Africa through an on-lending programme that supports smallholders and rural micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) involved in food systems to invest in climate resilient technologies and practices. • The programme mainstreams climate change adaptation finance in East Africa in the food system which is a nascent sector and therefore support sustainable agriculture, food and water security, resilient livelihoods and improved sustainable land use. • It de-risks investment through a risk-sharing structure that unlocks international capital and mobilizes regional private capital. • It empowers participating financial institutions, smallholders and rural MSMEs by providing them with technical assistance and capacity-building.
