About this project
The overall objective is to build climate-resilience in targeted rural communities in all six municipalities of the province of Cunene in south west Angola. The project will apply a gender-transformative approach[24] [about:blank] integrating agriculture, environment, education, water, and nutrition. The specific objectives of the project are: * to empower women for playing an active role in climate change adaptation at local level; * to enhance the resilience of communities to climate change risk, with focus on women groups; and * to reduce the vulnerability of women, their families and communities to food and nutrition insecurity. IF the enabling capacities for gender-transformative climate change awareness and food and nutrition security are strengthened, and interventions in climate-resilient livelihoods are implemented, THEN the most vulnerable populations will be more resilient towards climate variability and extremes, BECAUSE their knowledge and adaptive capacity will be enhanced by adopting Climate Resilient Agriculture Techniques and Diversifying Incomes. The Theory of Change of the proposed project is depicted in the figure below: [https://formioblob.blob.core.windows.net/formio/uploads/niania-12c273ad-f9c9-48bd-be2f-23f6a5041d57.png?st=2021-09-21T11%3A29%3A51Z&se=2022-09-21T13%3A09%3A51Z&sp=r&sv=2018-03-28&sr=b&sig=7ylcQY5rkxJpf6yWIfxz1BR1a9v3wzDXlM%2FMuOpHil8%3D] Figure 7.0 - Theory of Change (See Annex for bigger version) Component 1.
