About this project
The Civil Aviation Development Investment Project II is aligned with the following impacts: an affordable and equitable balance achieved between transport services that serve Papua New Guinea's (PNG) main economic sectors and those that provide reliable access to PNG's widely distributed rural population. The outcome of the project is aviation safety, efficiency, and network coverage improved. The project will upgrade five national airports for better safety and security, improve the power supply at Port Moresby International Airport, and enhance air navigation and weather services. The project draws on the lessons of the CADIP MFF that was implemented in 3 tranches from 2009 to 2021 by having a focus on project readiness, capacity building, and further upgrade required for the priority airports.
