About this project

The project will demonstrate mainstreaming of ecological civilization and the circular economy in Jiangxi Province.1 This will be done through strengthening institutional capacity to unfold key policy reforms and innovations, addressing wastewater pollution in the rural areas and old urban neighborhoods, enhancing river basin ecological health and climate resilience, and promoting the low-carbon circular economy. The project will directly benefit more than 500,000 residents of five project areas through enhanced natural resources, living environment, and livelihood opportunities. Moreover, experiences and best practices generated from the project may serve as models for replication in the Yangtze River Basin, other parts of the PRC, and other developing member countries (DMCs) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), contributing to sustainable development on a broader scale.
