About this project
Limited digital access, climate change, and an outdated veterinary system undermine the resilience of Tajikistan's livestock subsector, disproportionately affecting women livestock farmers. The proposed project will develop a digitally enabled and environmentally sustainable livestock subsector to improve food security and rural incomes. It will benefit smallholder livestock farmers by (i) strengthening institutional coordination and modernizing legal frameworks for veterinary services, (ii) establishing a national digital livestock identification and traceability system to improve animal health and disease control, (iii) supporting women-centric animal husbandry through women veterinarian networks and a digital livestock management platform (DLMP), and (iv) improving climate-resilient pasture management through upgraded animal migration infrastructure and better community governance.
