About this project

The main objective of the project is to improve the well-being of the populations of the project target areas (Dja loop of the East and South regions) through the creation of income-generating activities and the enhancement of food security. This will be done via improved production, processing, marketing, and support to private sector participation in the various agro-pastoral value chains development activities. Specifically, using the Value chain development approach, the project will seek to: i) Improve the incomes of the inhabitants through the sustainable development of value chains of the agro-pastoral sectors specifically, plantain, cassava, maize, poultry and fish. ii) Improve access of the population to basic socio-economic infrastructure and services (classroom, health units, marketplaces, portable water points, energy supply etc.). iii) Enhance the capacity (operational and institutional) of stakeholders in undertaking sustainable rural development projects.
