Agricultural Transformation Project in the North of Senegal (North Agropole)

About this project

As part of the operationalization of the Senegal Emerging Plan (PSE), particularly in its pillar relating to the "structural transformation of the economy and growth", the Senegalese Government wishes to implement the North Agropole Project for the sustainable transformation of the agricultural production system in order to contribute to a transfer of investments and human resources from agriculture to agro-industry. Identified among the 27 flagship projects of the PSE as one of the decisive levers for achieving food sovereignty and progressing in industrialization, the North Agropole project will contribute to: (i) increase the production of priority sectors, (ii) develop the ecosystem of private investment in the agro-industrial sector, (iii) increase the rate of processing of agricultural products, (iv) contribute to the creation of decent and sustainable jobs and (v) contribute to the structural transformation of Senegal's economy.
