About this project
Mozambique continues to face a complex and protracted humanitarian crisis driven by armed conflict, recurrent climate shocks, and public health emergencies, with the northern provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula, and Niassa bearing the greatest burden. To address these urgent and interconnected crises, IOM proposes a phased, integrated intervention that bridges emergency response, recovery, and resilience building, in line with the Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus (HDPN) and Solutions Agenda. The intervention is driven by four interconnected components. Under the Rapid Response and Localization Fund (RRF), local and national actors are empowered to continue delivering timely, accountable, context-specific humanitarian and recovery assistance. Area-Based Health and Protection interventions are expanding access to integrated, lifesaving primary healthcare, maternal and child health, nutrition, protection, and psychosocial support services. Stability, Social Cohesion and Reintegration for Conflict Affected Communities are supporting peaceful reintegration and community-level recovery in conflict-affected areas. The Displacement Tracking Matrix is providing timely, disaggregated, and actionable data and analysis gaps to inform targeted humanitarian action and durable solutions planning.
