About this project

Ethiopia's displacement crisis continues to pose significant humanitarian and development challenges, particularly in regions like Somali region, which host large numbers of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) and refugees. Despite a favourable policy environment, displaced and host communities remain heavily reliant on humanitarian aid, and competition over scarce resources has heightened fragility and strained social cohesion. To address these challenges, the Somali region has initiated a Multi-Year Resilience Strategy 2023-2028 (MYRS) aimed at building institutional and community resilience through better coordination of humanitarian, development, and peace nexus (HDPN) interventions. IOM, in close coordination with the Government of Denmark, is facilitating the secondment of a Senior HDPN Advisor to the Somali Regional President's Office. The advisor will provide high-level strategic, technical, and coordination support to enhance the effectiveness and coherence of emergency, recovery, peace and resilience building interventions.
