About this project

Hosting nearly one million Rohingya people, Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh is one of the world’s largest refugee settlements, comprised of thirty-three extremely congested camps. The need to support humanitarian operations has become more pertinent as the crisis protracts and the prospect of a safe, dignified and voluntary return to Myanmar remains unpredictable. In line with the Joint Response Plan and with support from the Government of Japan, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is implementing a twelve-month programme to provide support to Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char through site management and site development, shelter and non-food items, disaster risk reduction and social cohesion activities.
