About this project
Considering the growing scale, frequency and unpredictability of crises across Asia and the Pacific - and also the increasingly constrained humanitarian financing environment - this project strengthens IOM's operational agility and reinforce the capacity of its Country Offices in Asia and the Pacific to deliver timely, life-saving assistance. It will do so through the establishment of a Regional Crisis Support Facility (RCSF) within IOM's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) in Bangkok, Thailand, as a flexible, regionally coordinated mechanism to rapidly mobilize financial, human and material resources in support of both sudden-onset emergencies and escalations of protracted crises. The RCSF is designed to help IOM Country Missions - particularly those with limited surge capacity - act decisively in the critical early phase of crises, when lives can be saved, protection risks can be contained, and displacement and exploitation can be prevented. By providing tailored technical and operational reinforcement, the Facility will enable IOM to scale up at critical moments, bridge immediate gaps, and sustain essential response actions while larger-scale resources are mobilized.
