About this project

In IOM's most recent round of data collection (May - July 2025), the Sudanese population currently in Libya is estimated at 311,869 individuals. According to UNHCR, this had risen to 357,000 by August 2025. It is estimated that there will be a total of 550,000 individuals impacted by the situation in Sudan in need of assistance in Libya. To contribute to improving the resilience of individuals (Sudanese, TCNs, host communities) in Libya affected by the conflict in Sudan, IOM is conducting needs assessments, providing healthcare services and distributing food and/or non-food items. While continuing to respond to the most pressing humanitarian needs, IOM is also prioritizing efforts to strengthen the livelihoods and promote the economic recovery of affected communities, as well as strengthen local outbreak preparedness and response capacities of healthcare workers.
