About this project
Through this project, IOM is delivering immediate, needs-based, multisector humanitarian assistance to vulnerable Guatemalan returnees. Support is being provided at key arrival and service points-returnee reception centers in Guatemala City and Tecún Umán, the Assistance and Registration Center (CAR) in Guatemala City, and IOM Migration Resource Centers-to help people meet urgent needs as they arrive. The response combines unconditional vouchers, essential in kind kits (water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food/hydration, and clothing), assistance to obtain critical civil documentation, and specialized support for the most vulnerable cases, including safe transport when needed. It also includes rehabilitation and equipment to improve living conditions in three migrant shelters operated by the Scalabrinian Missionaries.
