About this project
Afghanistan is facing one of the world's largest and fastest-growing returnee-related displacement crises. Over the past two years, approximately 5 million people - equivalent to 10 per cent of Afghanistan's total population - have returned to the country. Moreover, Afghanistan is confronting a wide range of environment hazards, from floods to droughts to agricultural pest attacks. These disasters have contributed to asset, shelter and infrastructure damage, along with displacement and involuntary immobility. This project ensures the continuity of comprehensive response for vulnerable migrants in Afghanistan through the continuity of the border response and addressing humanitarian needs of undocumented Afghan migrants returning from Iran and Pakistan and strengthen emergency preparedness to address consequences of disasters stemming from various natural hazards.
