About this project
Years of conflict, economic fragility, underinvestment in basic services and the rapid erosion of rights have left large segments of the Afghan population with diminished resilience. These chronic stresses are now compounded by worsening food insecurity, large-scale cross-border returns, climate-driven drought, recurrent natural hazards, and the systematic exclusion of women and girls from public life. The objective of this project is to ensure the continuity of comprehensive and data-driven response for vulnerable migrants in Afghanistan through addressing humanitarian, protection, and health needs of undocumented Afghan migrants returning from Iran and Pakistan and identifying longer-term needs of returnees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in key targeted provinces of high return.
