About this project

IOM is delivering rapid, life-saving response in South Sudan to support vulnerable internally displaced persons, returnees, and conflict-affected host communities. The project targets individuals in Jonglei State through the provision of emergency shelter, non-food items (NFI), and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) assistance. The intervention combines frontline assistance-including in-kind distributions and targeted cash support-with IOM's Core Pipeline mechanism to preposition and rapidly deliver essential supplies. Implemented in a highly constrained environment marked by insecurity, flooding, and access challenges, this project emphasizes flexible delivery, strong coordination, and early prepositioning of supplies. It integrates protection, community engagement, and accountability to ensure safe, dignified, and equitable access for the most vulnerable populations. The project aims to reduce immediate humanitarian needs while strengthening the timeliness and effectiveness of emergency response across affected areas.
