About this project

Since early March 2026, a renewed escalation of hostilities in Lebanon has triggered largescale and repeated displacement, placing significant pressure on collective sites, host communities, and already overstretched essential services. Over one million people are estimated to be displaced nationwide, including approximately 133,000 individuals sheltering in collective sites, while most displaced households remain outside of formal collective sites. Overcrowding, inadequate shelter and site conditions, and limited access to basic household items are increasing humanitarian needs and protection risks. In response, IOM Lebanon proposes a life‑saving humanitarian intervention, aimed at addressing urgent needs while supporting safety, dignity, and coordinated service delivery. The project will provide essential core relief items (CRIs) to displaced households both within and outside collective sites and support targeted upgrades to collective sites to improve safety, accessibility, and living conditions.
