About this project
Ongoing hostilities in Ukraine continue to cause widespread civilian suffering, large scale displacement, and extensive damage to housing and social infrastructure. Persons with disabilities are disproportionately affected, facing compounded barriers to safe shelter, access to services, social participation, and livelihoods. The objective of this project is to enhance disability inclusion in selected collective centres in Ukraine by strengthening institutional capacities and empowering persons with disabilities to actively participate in decision making, advocate for their rights, and pursue social and economic integration during displacement. The project aligns with the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan, Ukraine's National Strategy for a Barrier Free Environment, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
