About this project
Migration across Asia and the Pacific (AP) is increasingly complex and dynamic, shaped by intersecting economic, social, environmental, and political factors. Movements are often mixed, involving labour migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and other mobile populations who move intermittently through multiple locations and across borders, frequently via irregular or unsafe pathways. Despite the scale and diversity of these movements, the region continues to face significant gaps in the availability, comparability, and timeliness of migration data, limiting the ability of governments and partners to anticipate trends, identify vulnerabilities, and design evidence-based responses. This project aims to address these challenges by strengthening the application of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) to generate systematic, comparable, and actionable data on mixed migration in Asia and the Pacific.
